Hello all family and friends my name is Diamonte Bentley but most of you know me as Monte. Where do I start? I was having pain in my left side and my stomach that kept getting worse and I ended up coming to the er on the 31st of December. I know what a way to bring in the New Year right!. Once I got settled in they gave me pain meds and then took me to the back to get a cat scan. As time went by of course anyone who knows me knows that my anxiety was through the roof. Once they got the results back for my cat scan the nurse told me that it was a mass found around my left kidney and that I had fluids in my stomach that was causing the unbearable pain. I ended up getting a biopsy done for them to get a sample to figure out exactly what this mass was. Not going to lie, after hearing what she told me I felt my whole life flash before my eyes and I just burst out crying into my sister arms. I’m only 29 you wouldn’t expect to hear that right. I know it doesn’t have an age but bearing news like that definitely opens your eyes. Once the results finally came back I was diagnosed with lymphoma (it’s curable so I got a little bit of relief) Once the doctor got me properly diagnosed with what it was he got right to treatment options. I started chemotherapy on Jan 9th I’m currently on my third dose. Getting better slowly but surely. All I ask is for prayers and prayers and even more prayers. Hold on to your love ones. Tell them you love them because you just never know what’s going on. One day your having a blast and then the next it’s like your whole world left your body! With me being in here I’m currently not working at the moment. You know what they say life does go on. I just ask for a little help until I’m back and up on my feet. Any and everything counts.
