Many of you who know me know that I, Montana Honeylion, am a mixed Indipino (Native American and Filipino) woman who has been actively and enthusiastically connecting to my Filipino heritage in the last handful of years, especially after the passing of my Nana, my dad's mother in 2019. In 2024, my husband and I traveled to meet my family in the Philippines for the first time and connect to my ancestral lands. It was an immensely impactful and special visit for me. I learned so much and never realized I had an entire family of dozens of cousins and aunts and uncles waiting to meet us.

Unfortunately, in early November, Typhoon Uwan hit Luzon, the northernmost island of the Philippines where the majority of my family live, and gravely impacted my great aunt and uncle's homes. I am hoping on this "Giving Tuesday" to raise funds for their roof repair, which you can see has been damaged and anything extra can go to them directly to help support themselves.

The first picture is of me visiting their home for the first time in February 2024, with my Great Aunt Imelda, the youngest of 14 siblings including my late paternal grandmother (nana) and my Great Uncle Kelly, who is actually the oldest living sibling. They live on a humble family farm where they raise pigs, ducks, and chickens, as well as many fruit trees. Unfortunately the typhoon also impacted their harvest, destroying many of the fruit trees they use to support their meager livelihoods.
