Love + Support for Montserrat Charre-Cueva
Donation protected
In October 2018, 2-year-old Montserrat ("Monse") Charre-Cueva and her family began a two year journey that they never imagined they would have to face. Monse was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-Cell ALL). She had suffered periodic fevers without other symptoms for over five months which had been repeatedly diagnosed as "viruses" by her pediatrician. Finally, after seeking a second opinion and having blood work done, the Leukemia diagnosis was made and Monse began treatment at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. She has almost completed the first phase of her chemotherapy (Induction Phase) but faces at least two more years of treatments and many more years of follow up care. Monse is a warrior through it all - still smiling and bringing joy to everyone around her. She will turn 3-years-old on November 30th.
Friends of Monse have set up this page for her parents, Vanessa and Juan Jose, in order to provide the family with the support they need during this difficult time. Vanessa has had to leave work to provide around-the-clock care for her daughter and there are medical and other expenses associated with Monse's treatment and care. We appreciate everyone's support as we help relieve some of the financial pressure that inevitably results from a cancer diagnosis in a family.
