Help Monique's Dreams Come True!
Donation protected
Hi Friends! I'm embarking on an exciting journey to Berlin and need a little help to bring my cherished musical instruments along. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a personal impact on my dreams and my future music studio, so I’d be grateful if you could click the link below to donate or share it with others who might help. Thank you so much for your support!

In 2012 I quit my full-time job in San Francisco to prepare for doctoral piano auditions, and was taking a bus to go practice on an upright across town and working 3 part-time jobs. I attended a friend’s musical soiree or evening in their home, and dreamed of someday having a space to host my own – on the grand piano that my parents had, despite their financial circumstances, gifted me to continue my studies when I was 20 (and most certainly the reason I got a doctorate in Piano).
In 2023, that dream came true. Not only did I have a soiree, but it was with my amazing adult students and my piano studio was ranked #1 in metro Atlanta (out of 329 and an area of over 5.5 million)!
2012 was also the year that I first began studying harpsichord and participating in baroque music workshops throughout North America and Europe. I wanted a harpsichord for over a decade and last year I met one of the few harpsichord builders in the US and, in honor of my 40th, my parents graciously bought me one of Keith Hill’s harpsichords. I also had my first symphony gig – performing harpsichord with the Huntsville Symphony!
Back in 2018, when I was working 5-part time jobs, I had made a vision board for one day having a musical room that would have a piano, harpsichord, and harp. In 2023 it became a reality!
I have loved my Atlanta home and my Music With Monique studio and students, but for years have felt personally stuck.
After wanting to be European since I was 13 and first went there, I finally (after a 5+ year process) became an EU and Portuguese Citizen this spring thanks to lineage on my dad's side.
I spent the summer in Berlin, and fell in love with the city and someone.
I have decided to move to Berlin, and after a lot of angst and loss of sleep, have decided that my instruments are too sentimental and significant to leave behind. I have made my dreams a reality and now I simply wish to relocate them.
I am planning to begin a new studio in Berlin and continue to teach students online. I am also excited to be performing more and will be sharing all performance recordings with any friends who donate. Also, you’ll be welcome in Berlin with a free lesson
Thank you!!!!
