My friend Moniques son Chance was born with a heart defect, 5 different defects to be exact, anemia of unkown origin, poor weight gain, failure to thrive, GI problems, and a mutated gene that they are looking more into.

In December he had a heart catheterization to see what was wrong and needed fixing. In May he had his first open heart surgery but his heart was not completly 100% fixed with several possible factors. After that first initial heart surgery he was admitted several times for his amemia ect. Recently now Chance has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now and had his NG tube advanced as a NJ. He also had a surprise CVL surgery on October 16th since they are unable to get a IV in him anymore. Unexpected to us, all of the sudden during this admission they decided they need to fix his heart problem right away since all.of his health issues are adding up and affecting him. Surgery went from 4-6 weeks, and then 2-3 weeks, then the next week, and then they bumped him up a day for surgery ( surgery 10/26)and with the next surgery for a GJ in the next upcoming months or sooner after he heals from this second heart surgery. There is so much going on with Chance that his mom is unable to work for she is his primary caretaker and their family can hardly keep up.
