My name is Monique, and I am reaching out for help during one of the most challenging times of my life. Due to heart failure and being diagnosed with dysautonomia and POTS, I was forced to leave my job and go on disability. I worked 100% remotely for the University of Wisconsin Madison while living in California. Although my disability was initially approved, my salary from the University was not included. After months of waiting and fighting for the correct payments, I was told that a code prevents me from receiving disability or any back pay. I have been out of work since August, and I have not been able to pay my mortgage, car note, and other essential bills since November.
The stress of this situation has taken a toll on my health and my household. After a heart procedure in October, I blacked out and accidentally flooded my home, adding even more strain to an already difficult time. My health is declining from the stress, and my son is very concerned about my well-being. I am doing everything I can to apply for permanent disability, but right now, I need help to get back on my feet.
I am asking for support to bring my bills current and relieve some of the financial burden so I can focus on my health and caring for my family. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to me and my son. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering helping us during this difficult time.
