I have been friends with fellow real estate agents Monica and Brian Allen since joining Keller Williams years ago. They are the essence of lightning in a bottle - outspoken, hilarious, and devoted to one another. They chase down dreams and have lived every moment in a brilliant technicolor. They embrace life and the people within it - their friends, clients, and family.

In pursuit of a dream, they left Cape Cod for Merida Mexico, but just as they were leaving, Brian was diagnosed with cancer. Undaunted and full of positivity that it was treatable, they bought their dream home in Merida, embraced the culture, and with treatment, Brian was doing well. But recently he began having issues with his health once again, and in their attempt to beat back his health problems, Monica (and Brian) amassed mounting medical bills - all of which are self-pay because in Mexico (as they unfortunately learned) a pre-existing condition is not covered.

On Brian's 63rd birthday, he suffered a dangerous stroke and has been in a coma ever since.

Monica, always a strong soul, has been navigating this nightmare in Mexico alone, but I asked her what she truly, TRULY needs - I know many others have asked her the same - and she finally told me what she really needs is financial help for the medical bills as she navigates this terrible point in her life.

Everyone always asks "What can I do?" and we have our answer.
