Please help us make Monica Ortiz's music dreams come true and help her record four new original songs! Monica is someone who regularly supports others in their dreams and is always willing to lend a helping hand.
This GoFundMe was created by a group of people who Monica has helped. We want to show our appreciation and do something really special for her.
And to #PayItForward:
1. We are offering a complimentary bonus perk for anyone who donates more than $50!*
2. If we're able to meet our fundraising goals, Monica will be putting on a series of free concerts throughout Nashville's retirement homes/hospitals to support those affected by #COVID19.
See more details on these two initiatives below!
Who is Monica?

Monica is someone who is always helping and encouraging others. It's part of her DNA, and some of the causes she supports are:
- Bringing mindfulness and meditation to companies for better mental health
- Donating food/clothing for the homeless
- Working with children with autism and their parents
- Donating to women's shelters
- Supporting cancer research
- Volunteering in and supporting Native American communities
- Donating to food banks
- Supporting St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Doctors without Borders
- And many others

In addition to these organizations she supports, she also takes care of so many people in her community - normal people like you and me. She is the type of person to believe in your ability to achieve your dream before you do and encourage/inspire you to follow it.
What's her story?

Having spent over 30 years helping others pursue their dreams and build their best lives, Monica took the incredible step of following her musical dreams last year and recorded Journey Home, an album of all-original songs that is available to stream on Spotify, Amazon, and Apple Music.

You can see a video for that album here: https://vimeo.com/330340121
Amazingly, her album garnered over 500,000 listens and tons of positive mentions on blogs and social media. It motivated her to pursue her dream even more.
In spite of her initial success, the music industry is a tough nut to crack, especially as a breakthrough new artist over the age of fifty. Monica is breaking boundaries to create her music, and that's something she's willing to put the time and energy into doing.
And if you listen to the album or see her perform in-person, then you'll agree we can't let her stop here. We want to help raise enough money for her to record another four songs and create music videos to go with them!
So we're asking you, please donate to help Monica make #MusicThatMovesUs.

What is #MusicThatMovesUs?
One of Monica's favorite quotes is 'Life without music would be a mistake'.
The best music evokes the deepest feelings in us of love, happiness, bittersweet memories, heartbreak, innocence, and more. That's the type of music she creates - music that taps into the soul of who we are as humans.
As the beneficiary of this campaign, she's planning to use these funds to record four new songs, film music videos, and then put on a series of free #MusicThatMovesUs concerts throughout the Nashville area to bring cheer to retirement homes and the medical community. She wants to help support those communities hit hard by COVID-19 and lift their spirits through #MusicThatMovesUs.
How the money will be spent:
1. Recording 4 new singles (hiring musicians, production, rehearsal, studio time, mixing/mastering, and post production)
2. Creating 4 accompanying music videos (creating a script, hiring a videographer, video editor, costumes, visual effects)
3. Radio promotion for the new music
4. Putting on #MusicThatMovesUs events at retirement homes and for the medical community in Nashville

Who we are (the organizers):
Each of us met Monica at different points in our lives, and she's helped each of us in really meaningful ways. We share about that in the videos above.
For some of us, she gave career advice. For others, it was life advice or being a friend and mentor to lean on through some of the toughest periods of life (divorce, family trauma, emotional trauma, etc.). The common thread through it all was that our lives were touched by our connection to Monica Ortiz and as a result of that connection we benefited.
Her sincere desire to help others, simply to help with no ulterior motive and with no judgment, is a rare trait that deserves appreciation and recognition. And that's where we're hoping for your help.
