In 1996 I found a deer tick imbedded in my chest.
I did the right thing: went to the doctor, had it removed and went on a prophylactic course of doxycycline.
It wasn’t long before my problems grew. Pain and lots of it in every part of my body. My feet were on fire. My gums hurt as if someone was stabbing them. My joints hurt. I had no sense of balance. My eye pressure increased. Pain ran from my neck down my back to my foot.
I must have seen two dozen doctors, been on a dozen medications. I tried chiropractic, massage, Rife machine, vitamins by the bucketful. Nothing eliminated the problems completely.
In and out of the hospital I had tests and more tests. Spinal taps, MRIs, EEGs, and I gave lots of blood. It seemed like gallons.
The Lyme bacteria was found in a muscle biopsy of my left quad.
It had become harder and harder to walk, like trying to march through wet cement. Finally I couldn’t walk at all.
That was fifteen years ago. I’ve learned of stem cell treatment that I have to leave the US to obtain.
