My name is Mone Bouatic, and I am a farmer from the Waialua/Mokule’ia area of O’ahu, Hawai’i. My farm land was hit hard by the recent March 2026 Kona Low storms. Any funds raised here will go towards immediate and urgent needs that will help keep me safe during this time.

I have been a farmer for over 20 years—15 of those years in the Waialua/Mokule’ia area—and absolutely love my work. I grow tomato, cucumber, okra, long bean, pumpkin, bittermelon, and other Asian vegetables. The recent storms completely flooded my farm and wiped out all my crops. I lost my tractor, my van, and all of my daily properties and personal belongings that I use every day. I have close to nothing left. 15 years of hard work, and now, nothing to show for it.

I work hard to take care of my farm. Even after finding out I have stage 3 cancer, I I will never give up on it. I will treasure my farm until the day I pass. Even with my diagnosis, I wake up every morning to work the field, still trying to make things better and improve my skills; I am still trying to get my vegetables to the market. Now, I have nothing to harvest, and nothing to sell. Even so, I still choose to farm because the work I do makes me happy. It is very meaningful and provides for myself as well as my community.

Although my time may be limited, I will still always choose to spend it on the farm. It is everything to me.
