Dear friends and family,
Early April 2026, my good friend's lovable and dainty cat, Monday, began showing frightening breathing struggles that developed rapidly. His mom, Skyla Pisciotti, started noting hard distentions and contractions of his diaphragm as he seemed to struggle to breathe. His attacks initially looked like hairballs, but flared to include extensive coughing, gagging, and gasping. The matter became urgent when Skyla woke up in the middle of the night to find Monday notably wheezing, coughing, and losing his ability to move at his regular capacity. It was clear that Monday was lacking oxygen and he was rushed to Green Acres Veterinary Center in Tonawanda. Monday was immediately put on oxygen, an antibiotic, and a steroid. He received a series of screenings to show intense inflammation in his left lung and was granted the diagnosis of asthma. We had no clue how scary asthma could look in cats, especially since they cannot advocate for themselves. The bills from the veterinary testing and treatment quickly accrued, and were closely followed by pricey but necessary monthly maintenance medication. Please consider donating to help a sweet baby boy breathe better, knowing that literally ANY amount helps. Asthma in cats can present very subtly, but can explode into a highly life-threatening and scary situation in the blink of an eye. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about and consider supporting Monday.
