When a community loses its shelter, everyday needs become urgent: a safe place to sleep, clean water, food, and medicine.
I’m Edward Sczudlo, founder of The Maitri Project. We are raising $25,000 to support disaster relief and recovery for monastic communities affected by flooding in Nepal.
Maitri works through relationships with monastics and trusted local institutions to identify and support verified needs. Donations can help provide food, safe water, medicine, hygiene supplies, temporary shelter, bedding, robes, and study materials. As needs are confirmed, funds can also support restoring safe places of refuge, learning, and practice.
Your gift helps meet practical needs so that people can regain stability and community life can continue. This $25,000 campaign is one contribution toward that recovery; it does not represent a promise to meet every need.
This is an organizer-managed fundraiser for The Maitri Project. Funds received will be directed through Maitri toward verified relief priorities. Learn more at https://themaitriproject.com/nepal-flood-relief/
The campaign photograph is a Maitri community archive image. It shows the people and community our work supports; it does not depict the flood itself.
Please donate if you can, and share this fundraiser. An act of kindness can become food, shelter, and renewed stability for people facing an uncertain recovery.
Organizer and project location: The Maitri Project is based in Topanga, California 90290, United States. The work supported by this fundraiser takes place abroad: flood-affected monastic communities in Nepal. Topanga is our organization’s base, not the location of this project.
One act of kindness can travel further. If this cause speaks to you, please give an amount that feels right, or share this fundraiser with one person who cares about food, shelter and recovery for Nepal’s flood-affected monastic communities. Add a sentence about why the cause matters to you, so your friends hear your own voice. Giving is optional; sharing is another way to help.
