Help Mona Recover: Support Her Stroke Care
Donation protected
We are raising this for my Mom, Mona Miller Wallace (reluctantly... but still). She has had a major stroke in the right hemisphere of her brain. The first picture was just taken about 4 weeks ago. Now she is paralyzed completely on her left side and has what is called post-stroke dementia. Anyone who knows us knows we just lost my Dad, and now we've lost part of Mom too.
She is going to need help with medical bills, will need around-the-clock care, and medical equipment for when she does come home. Not to mention, her house needs to be made livable (if ykyk) and made ready for someone in a wheelchair. My brother, Jordan, and I are doing the best we can, but there are only two of us. She was always filled with faith and could talk for hours. But now... she seems to be somewhere else most of the time. They have moved her out of ICU in New Orleans back to Houma and onto a therapy floor at the hospital here, but she is struggling. I believe with all my heart that she is trying her best, but I also know that only God himself can intercede to help her (and us) and to save her. She is just so lost; it's sad.
I hate asking for this kind of help, but it's not for me; it's for my Mom, and God knows that she needs and will need the help. I don't expect $8,000. That's just what it made me put, but any help at all would be appreciated. We are all (especially her, of course) going to have a long, hard road ahead of us; only the road is shaky and filled with uncertainty. Not to mention a lot of bills and costs that we don't know how we are going to cover. Even if you can't give, I ask that you send your prayers up for Mom. We are all scared and uncertain of the future. Thank you all for loving her. Keep the faith. That's all I can do to keep going. She is missed so, so much! ❤️
