Help Mona Fight Cancer

Please help me save my best friend Mona! My name is Jessica Raulerson and I met Mona Chisenhall back in 2014 when we worked together. Mona transferred positions into the department that I was managing. We became quick friends and have since grown to be more like sisters. Mona is such a hard worker and is one of the most generous souls I know. Anyone that knows Mona can’t help but love her because of her positive and fun-loving energy. Mona is that person who is always there for her loved ones. I cannot imagine my life without her in it.
Not everyone knows this but in 2019, Mona started her battle with breast cancer. During that time, she went through radiation treatments and surgery for the cancer. Mona continued to work during this time. She is not one that likes to ask for help even though she is always there to help others when needed. We were so thankful when she went into remission.
Fast forward to 2023 and Mona started to have issues with her breathing and severe back pain. She went to the doctor’s and the hospital and was provided with different treatments to help her pain as well as her breathing. Nothing was helping and it wasn’t until Thanksgiving Day of 2023 that she was first told that she had legions on her spine and needed to make an appointment with her Oncologist. There are no words that can describe how this news hit us and those around Mona that love and support her. Since this news was first shared with her, she has followed up with her doctors and found out that her breast cancer she had metastasis to her spine, and she now has bone cancer. It is now stage 4, and she has a long road ahead of her. We are all positive and know that she can fight this battle and come out of it stronger than ever!
Mona has found a clinic that specializes in the cancer she is fighting and has started the process of preparing for treatments this week. Her treatments will take 10 to 12 weeks and will last 8 to 12 hours a day. As these treatments are time consuming, she has had to put in a leave of absence from work. On top of this she is also looking at a significant medical bill as this treatment she requires is not covered through her medical insurance and everything will need to be paid for out of pocket.
I am not one that asks for help from others, but I am asking now. Please help in any way you can. Even if you are not able to assist financially, please share this to spread the awareness. Any donation amount isn’t too small. Even if you can only afford $5 or $10 every bit adds up. We are so thankful that you have taken the time to read our story and become part of our village to help Mona in this battle she has ahead of her.
