Please consider lending a little help to Shari Rose, a personal friend and mother to Slade, her 21 year old son who was born with both EDS and POTS, along with a condition where his heart is upside-down in his chest. She is also the very proud (and equally broken-hearted) widow to a Vietnam Veteran, who passed 20 years ago.

Shari and Slade are residents of Guernsey County near the Noble County line. They left their home to attend an event in Florida and upon arriving Shari suffered a stroke, was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead. They were able to revive her only long enough to get her onto a ventilator. They were able to keep her alive using the ventilator for a month. After an extended stay at the hospital for rehab, they sent her to a nursing home where she has been rehabilitating ever since. This was over a year ago. In recent weeks, Shari's care team had prescribed her high doses of meds that actually almost overdosed her so she's had to begin rehabilitating for the accidental over-dose

The stroke affected the right side of her body. As of 11/21/24 Shari still has no use of her right arm and very limited use of her right leg. Just last week she was able to celebrate the ability to take 10 steps unassisted. She is currently unable to care for herself if she leaves the nursing home and only hopes to come home to Ohio where she will be able to get the best of the best in Medical attention.

We are hoping to raise enough money and awareness to see if we can get her home. Their income was limited to $400/month prior to her hospitalization. Slade lost his SSDI during the stay in Florida and Shari has been unable to help care for him. Other than the expense of getting her home to Guernsey County, we are hoping and praying enough people who know her, or Slade, will spread the word to see if we can get volunteers to help drive down and drive them back home maybe. They are willing to accept any form of help: time, cards of encouragement, money, care packages but most of all they need our prayers.
