In August 2021, my mom was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer. She bravely underwent surgery to remove as much of the cancer as possible, including a radical hysterectomy. After her initial treatment, which included chemotherapy and targeted radiation, we hoped for the best. But in November 2022, we learned the cancer had spread to her pelvic area, abdomen, and chest. By the following year, it had reached her spine, and despite another surgery in April 2024, not all of the cancer could be removed. The cancer continued to spread, reaching her neck, collarbone, and lungs by early 2025. In December 2025, new tumors were found in her back and collarbone, and by October, we learned that her treatment was no longer working. She was given 6 to 9 months from her last round of treatment in September 2025. We are still waiting to see if she qualifies for a drug trial, but it has already been four months without news. Through all of this, my mom has shown incredible strength and love for her family. She has a simple bucket list with two wishes: to take a family vacation with her adult children and all her grandkids to the mountains in Tennessee, and to go on a cruise with my dad, her husband. These trips would mean the world to her and give us all precious memories to cherish. I want to make these dreams come true for her, to give her moments of joy and togetherness after so much hardship. Any support you can give will help us make these trips possible and bring comfort to my mom during this difficult time. If we are fortunate enough to raise more than what is needed for my mom and dad's portion of the trips, any extra funds will go toward the cabin rental to help our family come together and ease the burden on us as her adult children.
