Help Momo survive an adder snake bite (urgent treatment)
Donation protected
UPDATE 23/5/25
Unfortunately, the wounds have opened up and require immediate attention. She is back with the PSDA. They are keeping her in, more blood tests and work on dealing with the open wounds. They have mentioned its around £3000 of surgery that needs to be paid up front asap.
UPDATE 22/5/25
Momo was released from the vet hospital on the 20/5/25 after several days in 24/7 care, drips and monitoring. They gave her stimulants to get her eating again. She is not out the woods completely but her liver and kidney markers are better. She has pretty much fought the venom off herself.
It turns out due to a failed diagnosis of the first vet meant it was too late to use anti venom. The first vet charged £750 for this failed diagnosis that led to momo suffering more. The second charged £1500 up front and did little to nothing until we would pay the remaining £1500 the next day, but at this point we were told to get in touch with PDSA and they took momo in at a more reasonable rate.
I have laid out £3000 and unfortunately due to personal circumstances I just have been in a position of low cash flow for various reasons and the dogs insurance had expired recently.
We have been told that she will need weekly check ups at cost and assuming she fully pulls through as her wounds are still oozing puss, she will likely need reconstructive surgery with a skin graft to fix all the vicious wounds which is not free. Not to mention medication and other remedies.
As we have more costs I have decided to end the current gofundme which has helped me cover some costs and make a new one in future if the surgery prices are unmanageable
I want to thank everyone for their support

It feels like it was only yesterday when I brought baby momo home and presented her to our family in my hands. She was so small back then.
Momo is a loyal, sweet and beautifull member of our family. She is mostly an Akita breed with some possible mix, hence her ears flop down.
She has always been healthy apart from a few leg joint issues. Until last week she chased a cat and I felt she knocked her ribs.
Dissaociated, glass eyed and quiet. I knew something was wrong. Her bloods came back and the vet said cancer, liver kidney damage, but it just didnt sit right. After consulting our original vet he shaved more of her fur to find an adder bite. Just under a week had passed and its spreading.
The vet referred her to a specialist hospital for anti venom treatmen as her basic treatment has not helped. Unfortinatley as its spread she requires more support and the cost is £6000.
If we are unable to get her treatment the vet has suggested she has a month to live. The venoms ability to deteriorate the body means we would have no choice but to put her down.
If you could help even with a small donation we would be indebted to you eternally. This is not the way for a good dog to go, who has supported us and spreads love and joy with all who cross her path.
With love
