Momma Kitty came into my life after I learned she was living in heartbreaking conditions. She had never even been given a real name—just called "mama kitty" by the people who had her, who admitted they didn’t know how to care for a cat. When I first met her, she was suffering from severe neglect. Her back was matted so badly that maggots had started living in her fur, and after a rough shave, she was left outside as the weather turned cold. Every morning, I checked on her, making sure she had food and water. One day, she climbed into my lap, purring and desperate for affection. That was the moment I knew I had to bring her home, even though I didn’t know the full extent of her health issues.
Her living conditions were truly awful. She slept in her very used cat litter box because it was the cleanest place for her to lay. The box was rarely, if ever, changed, and it was clear she was just trying to find any comfort she could. Since then, I’ve learned that Momma Kitty is deaf from untreated ear mites, and she’s scratched her right ear so much that half of it is gone. She walks with a lean and cries out in pain when her ears bother her. Despite everything, she’s incredibly sweet and just wants to be loved. She has the cutest little meow—since she can’t hear herself, she meows loudly and often, always looking for reassurance that I’m still there. I’ve done my best to care for her, but the vet bills are overwhelming. The initial visit alone is expensive, and she’ll need ongoing medication and possibly treatment for skin issues from her past living conditions.
All donations will go directly to Momma Kitty’s veterinary care, medications, and anything else she needs to recover and live comfortably. I want to give her the best possible life after everything she’s endured. She’s already brought so much love into my home, and with your help, I can make sure she gets the care she desperately needs. Thank you for supporting Momma Kitty’s journey to a safe, happy, and healthy life.
