Help 'Momma B' Begin Her Life Again
Donation protected

Like countless other families, Yolanda Boston’s entire life changed the night fires ravaged through the historic town of Altadena. A single mother and caregiver to many, Yolanda (‘Momma B’) was on assignment taking care of an elderly dementia patient 80 miles away when flames enclosed on the street of her home of 22 years. Momma B’s daughter, Miya, was just barely able to escape the disaster with their two dogs, and they are now faced with the grueling reality that their home and all of their possessions are gone forever.
Momma B’s home was a safe place for many at-risk youth over the years, opening her doors to everyone and anyone who needed a place to sleep, eat, or simply be. An assault survivor herself, Momma B did everything she could for the young people that came to her doorstep, often fostering/housing several teenagers at a time or hosting one of her famous game nights. “I always opened up my home to all the kids,” she says. Devoted to a life of selflessness, Momma B also spent most of her free time cooking meals for people in her community, volunteering on Skid Row, and financially supporting several family members stretched across the U.S. “The way I feel I can give back to others is by giving my time.”
This GoFundMe is being created by Rugile (‘Reggie’) Pekinas who happened by chance to meet Momma B at a coffee shop during her lunch break on January 13th. All funds and proceeds will directly go to Momma B and her family in supporting them to meet their basic necessities as they begin to piece their lives together bit by bit. We thank you for your generosity and consideration, and we pray for healing to all those impacted by the fires.
