Help Mom Walk Again with AI Technology
Donation protected
In 2016, my mom had a big stroke in the center of her brain that bridges both halves of the left and right hemispheres. The clot was big, and it was in the pons section in the brainstem. This landed her in the hospital for a month and over a year of physical therapy to learn how to walk again. Her left leg and foot were initially paralyzed, and her left arm, hand, and fingers could barely move, and there was absolutely no strength. She couldn't even lift up the top sheet she was laying under. Around the same time, she was also diagnosed with a faulty immune system that attacks her body. It's rare and incurable, called Sarcoidosis. This added to her already difficult health challenges. She eventually gained some mobility using a rollator. She is left with permanent nerve and muscle damage to her leg along with spasticity, drop foot, and a foot that turns inward and partially sideways. She has fallen 13 times from rolled ankles, stubbing the front part of her foot on the ground with each step, and a very heavy feeling leg.
She recently learned about new technology that uses AI in a device where the computer memorizes her steps and movements. Then pads with electrical stimulation, fire the necessary nerves which tell the muscles to lift and straighten her foot out. It takes away the heavy feeling in her leg as well and eliminates fall risks and promotes more independence. It also, in turn, helps her outlook and zest for life. Unfortunately, insurance doesn't pay for the device. She needs your help to purchase it. Any amount you can help with will be deeply appreciated. I thank you from the bottom of my heart! God bless you!
This brace will help me be able to walk again, although it is expensive, I hope you all can find it in the kindness of your hearts to help me afford it. My life hasn’t been the same since my stroke in 2016. When I first wore this brace, my balance was restored and I felt like my old self again. I miss walking and being independent. This device will give me that. I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to read this. Share it like wildfire and I know with your help, I will be able to take my first steps towards walking again.
