Hello,

My name is Lili Poelzer, and I have started this fundraiser for my Mom, Savannah. The past few months have been incredibly difficult for Ma, and now she needs our help.

In June, she went to the ER with fainting spells. They found two masses in her neck and her underarm. They scheduled her for diagnostic tests within the next month, however a week and a half before the first tests, she was back in the ER where they did emergency scans and biopsy, because the masses had doubled in size since her last ER visit.

Last week the doctor called her and told her that she has an aggressive form of cancer called Diffused Large B Cell Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. They then got Oncology involved, who booked her for a PET scan last week.

I booked a flight to Vancouver from my home in Alberta to attend the appointment with the oncologist and to help my Mom. Today, we went to her first meeting with the Oncology team. It was here that we were told she is stage 4 and has other masses throughout her body.

While this is understandably a hard pill to swallow, the prognosis is good - IF she starts treatment immediately. She is booked to start on Thursday, and I will be with her for that.

The reason I created this fundraiser is my mother is a hard working and independent woman. Who at 62 works as a private care giver for elderly people as well as tutoring special needs kids. She is self employed, and as such does not have extended benefits or any sort of additional coverage.

She does not want to stop working, and while she has cut back on her hours, she's not really sure how she will survive and pay for the basics without an income, and some of these medications she needs aren't covered.

The prognosis is over 70% success rate, but only if she starts treatment immediately. To do that, she needs help.

Anything helps, and any and all funds raised will go directly to her to pay for any associated treatment costs, and to pay for the basics like rent and food.

I asked the Oncology doctor what would happen if she waits or doesn't do the treatment. The doctor told us that she would die within 6 months to a year.

Prior to this, my mother is an active woman, walking a lot, swimming 5 or 6 days a week.

I need my Mom. My brother needs my Mom. And so do my husband and I's boys, her three little grandsons. Please, help me help my Mom save her life. She's got so much life left and she's not ready to go down without a fight. I am asking for this help to take the stress of keeping a roof over her head, food on her plate and the medications she needs. The main out of pocket medication she needs is just shy of 900$, for every round of R CHOP chemotherapy. She has a minimum of 6 rounds to go. This is not something she can afford, and she needs help.

She is not the type of person to ask for help, she's the one helping. So I am here, asking you to help save my mother's life.
