Help Mom Pay for Tyler's Cremation

Hi, my name is Kellie Boers, and I am the special needs school bus driver for a special little boy named Tyler. Tyler was 10-years-old and the son of a single mom named Serena. Sadly, Tyler passed away on Saturday, March 19th.

I met them 2 years ago when they moved to the Portage Public Schools district and I became Tyler's bus driver. I have a nurse (Miss Betsy) on my bus who helped to care for Tyler for his ride to and from school. When he first started riding with us, we were jealous of his incredible head of hair, it was long, curly and so shiny. Mom had it cut but it was still so thick and wavy, he always looked so handsome.

Tyler is referred to by his mom, as her "little dude", and much of the time he greeted us with that beautiful smile and sometimes even a laugh or two. He loved to ride the bus, and typically, on his ride up the lift in his wheelchair, we jiggled it a little like he was 4-wheeling to create the laugh that was so infectious. Tyler wore a string of beads that has little bells attached to it, and when you jingle them for him, it again brought that amazing smile to light up our day.

Tyler's mom is a mom who is solely devoted to her son. We can tell by the way she talked to him, how she touched him, his appearance every day, and his responses to her, just how much this little boy is loved by his mom. Tyler is an only child and this tragedy has rocked her world.

Again, Tyler's mom's name is Serena, and she is just as beautiful as her name. We have come to know her as the shy, kind-hearted person who takes Tyler on her runs and walks and she shares the activities of their bunnies and chickens with him to make him smile. Those bunnies love him, as you will see by the pictures I will include.

We are requesting your help to help Serena pay for his final expenses. Any and every little bit will add up, but we would like to remove this burden from her mind, just to allow her to grieve the loss of her son without worrying about how she will pay for his cremation.
