Mom of 3 hoping to obtain independent mobility

Hi my name is Brittany and I am fundraising for a power wheelchair to gain independence and ability to take my children to the park and other events as I have a chronic health condition that affects my ability to stand for longer than a few minutes without experiencing symptoms of presyndope or syncope (fainting) due to a heart-rate increase of upwards to 170 beats per minute upon standing. I do not have the stamina or strength to push myself in a manual wheelchair as I struggle with exercise intolerance and chronic fatigue and weakness. I fantasize about the independence I would gain from having a compact, light weight and portable power chair that would give me the independence to do more as an individual and as a parent with my children, I want to give them the most of me. With my income being so low due to receiving CPP disability my family income is just barely covering our expenses. Our healthcare system is outdated to say the least, and while I’ve been assessed by OT, the only power chair I could have covered is not able to be transported in my vehicle. It weighs over 300 lbs and my OT even said she could get 3 light weight portable power chairs for 3 patients for the price of this one particular model that significantly reduces independence, requiring use of the local wheelchair transport company that only allows 1 person to accompany the disabled passenger which means I could not transport my 3 children with me to make use of having a power chair to assist in my mobility. I’m hoping to reach a goal of 1,000 to hopefully purchase a power chair posted on marketplace in an estate sale if suitable, or to purchase a power chair that would be suitable for me.
