My Name is Jasmin and I am a 20 years old student in Germany.
My Mom is 52 years old and suffering from a disease called COPD and a Lung emphysema.
My mother raised me and my other two siblings on her own. Since the last 3 years, she is in pension and lives with my grandma in Bosnia and Hercegovina.
The Picture is 3 years ago now. There she is looking good - she was just at the "start" of the disease. She was happy as you can see - this was at my A-level graduation.
She really supported me and my other siblings our entire life in whatever we did.
Besides her children, my mom had her own business, she was clothes designer and producer (which is her passion). After the diagnosis, the business had to shut down because she is not allowed to breathe in the fine particulates.
The situation with my mom is at a critical state. She has a lung volume of approx. 15% but it is just getting worse faster and faster. Time flies and she is now at the terminal stage of COPD. She cannot even walk to toilet without making a stop because of lack of air.
The thing is that she weights just 42 kilograms which is side effect of COPD and this takes her entire energy. It is hard to see, but harder to live when you cannot breath, no matter what you do. She tried several medicines, had tons of cortisone, but they have not helped. It is a life not worth living for her because she is not able to do anything. But we want her to stay in our lives.
the thing is that you dont see a lung disease on the first look. She is weak and too thin and breathing takes her entire energy. She cannot take place in day-to-day activities..
Her last chance is a lung transplantation.
And for that, she needs to travel to France to do the operation, because in Bosnia there aren't any hospitals for organ transplantation. An organization called "Otvorena Mreza" helps people in Bosnia to organize those transplantations, and she is admitted to that program, but my mom has to pay the bills herself.
She does not have an insurance or the money to pay for an operation that costs 100.000€
We really need and appreciate your help, even if it is just a few cents.
I just want her to be alive when I marry and to have her when I build my family. She is the kindest person of all and I hope we can make her living longer.
My mum is a hearth-warming, selfless person. She gave her entire life for her three children and now we want to give her her life back.
Lets save a mum, grandmom, friend who is important to many people.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and bless you,
The donations will be directly transferred to my mum.
