Help mom battle MS with the best care possible

Donation protected
On May 3rd my mother-Sara Burns, known to Morah Sara to many began losing vision in her left eye along with debilitating headaches. She had been suffering for weeks with abnormal dilating of her eyes and horrific headaches. She has been admitted to the Yale neurological floor since Wednesday 5/3. Due to an MS diagnosed flair. This one is hitting her pretty hard both with her vision and speech. Her every wish is to get better and be home with her family and back in her classroom. We need her here with us and not to miss another day with her family. Funding will help ensure she is able to continue the care she is receiving while being admitted and to begin outpatient care when she returns home.

To know my mother is to love her. From the time my sister and I were born she was always there for us. Nothing stood in her way if we needed something we had it she works 2 jobs to provide and make sure we have all our needs met. Over her years in the Milford community she has touched endless lives through her giving nature. Always the “class mom” even winning the Milford Parent of the year award! She has volunteered her time at book fairs, planning school events and dances all while never missing a baseball, soccer, early swim meet, or basketball game along the way. She stayed home and raised us until we were old enough to be in school and it was time for her to go back to work.

Her passion is working at SCHA with young children who adore her. She puts her heart and soul into her classroom and the loves all of her students. When I walk into her classroom I’m transformed into a room of love and learning where young children can play and explore through all their sensory experiences. “Morah Sara, Morah Sara” you hear throughout the halls as past students walk by. She leaves an impression on all. It truly is amazing the effort she puts in. This experience has been life changing to our entire family as it has brought us closer to our Hebrew Congregation of Milford Chabad family. Teaching us so much about what it means to be a proud Jewish family. Something I am eternally grateful for-even if I’m not at every event!

More recently she has picked up shifts waitressing at a local pizzeria to help cover the raising costs of life and medical bills. She quickly made a following of customers who look forward to seeing her smiling face serve them as they dine in. This too she quickly excelled in!

I humbly ask of you if you have had the immense pleasure of knowing my mother through the Milford Public Schools, Southern CT Hebrew Academy, local chabad centers, Bella Napoli or wherever throughout our community you take the time to donate even the smallest amount which will cover upcoming medical expenses for the foreseeable future and that she is able to obtain the best care possible for herself. If you can’t donate please consider sharing. And thank you all for taking your time to read about my amazing mother.
