Update 7/19:
This is not the update I was hoping to give. Her oncologist ordered a scan this week to have the most updated picture for a treatment plan. The cancer has had aggressive growth and even if she was strong enough to withstand the chemo dose needed it's only a 10% chance of prolonging life and with all the side effects of chemo.
She is now getting hospice care and said visitors are fine, however she drifts in and out a lot. I mostly just sit with her, hold her hand, feed her ice chips (or whatever she wants) and talk to her. They have taken her off all meds unless they are for comfort care.
She is currently at St. Michael's in Silverdale, but may be moved to a hospice home. I will get more information on that by hopefully Monday and will provide updates.
Original post:
Ifyou know my Mom, you know she is a giver and not one to ask for help. So, I am asking on her behalf.
She has fought and beaten cancer a few times now, and currently is battling both neuro-endocrine and bone cancer. Up until this hospital stay, she has worked full time. I want her to be able to focus on recovery to get out of the hospital and strength building once she's at a rehab center.
I am hoping to get at least 6 months of her rent covered so she doesn't need to worry about finances or going back to work. If my mom has ever helped you and you're in a position to do so, please consider donating.
If you have questions, please reach out to me and not her as trying to respond to messages she's receiving is very taxing for her at the moment.
