Help Mom Focus on Getting Better

Hello. My mom, Yamileth Jex (Jami), is fighting a battle that no mother should have to fight – a battle against cancer. Mom is young and has always been full of life. She loves to dance (going back to her Colombian roots) and have fun. Jami is not only my mom, but she is also Mom to my little sister, Natasha (9), with help from my dad, Colby.

It all started with a fall at our house. Mom had to be taken to the hospital. She broke bones in her back and her ribs. After that, she had to stay in bed and needed constant help. After a lot of tests, the doctors finally found out why Mom broke so many bones and was so affected by the fall – Mom had stage 4 cancer. First, they found cancer in her bones and then they found out where it started, her stomach.

Throughout the difficult times, my dad, my sister, and I have kept positive and put our trust in God. Mom started with the regular treatments, but unfortunately, her body rejected some of them. So, she has been trying whatever will work - options in modern medicine and natural options too. As you can imagine, Mom’s fight with cancer has become very expensive.

I started this GoFundMe account to help ease the burden on Mom and Dad. Mom continues going to countless doctor appointments, hospital stays, etc., and Dad is right there with her as much as he can; he has had to take a lot of time off from work, which worries Mom. My hope is that this GoFundMe account will allow Mom and Dad to be able to focus on getting Mom well and fighting this horrible disease called cancer. I humbly ask that you to pray for my mom, share this link with friends and family and, if possible, help Mom and Dad (any amount helps).

Hola. Mi mama, Yamileth Jex (Jami), esta peleando una batalla que ninguna mama debería tener que pelear - una batalla contra el cáncer. Mi mama es joven y siempre ha estado llena de vida. A ella le gusta mucho bailar (e ir a su país latino Colombia) y divertirse. Jami también es mama de mi hermana, Natasha (9), con la ayuda de mi papa, Colby.

Todo empezó con una caída en nuestra casa. Con la caída mi mama se quebro muchas costillas y quebro huesos de su columna; razón por la cual terminó en el hospital. Con esta caída tuvo que mantenerse en cama y de ahí en adelante ha necesitado la ayuda constante. Los doctores tuvieron que hacer muchos exámenes para poder saber la razón de porque tantos huesos quebrados. Ellos descubrieron que mi mamá tenía cáncer en sus huesos en etapa 4 y la base el estomago.

Aun en medio de estos momentos dificiles, mi papá, mi hermana, y yo hemos estado positivos en poner la confianza en Dios. Mi mamá empezó con los tratamientos pero desafortunadamente su cuerpo no ha aceptado muchos de esos tratamientos. Así que ella ha estado tratando cualquier cosa que la ayude a salir de esto; tanto la medicina moderna como la medicina natural. Como se imaginan su proceso de batallar con el cáncer ha sido muy costoso.

Empecé esta cuenta de GoFundMe para así poder ayudar la carga de mi papá y mi mamá. Mi mamá continúa llendo aquí y allá a citas con doctores, llendo y quedandoce en hospitales, etc. Mi papá ha sido una ayuda constante para mí mama. El ha tenido que dejar de trabajar por mucho tiempo, el cual ha hecho que mi mama se preocupe.

Mi esperanza es que esta cuenta de GoFundMe ayude a mi mama y mi papa asi ellos se enfoquen en pelear esta horrible enfermedad del cáncer.
