Aid in Mom’s Fight to Beat Stomach Cancer
Donation protected
In December of 2024, after facing months of sickness and discomfort, Mom was diagnosed with an advanced form of gastrointestinal adenocarcinoma originating from a tumor in the lining of her stomach.
Once biopsies were confirmed, the spots seen in the original scans of her stomach and liver had metastasized to stage four stomach cancer.
Mom scheduled an endoscopy at Gardens Medical Center after Thanksgiving. She was instructed not to eat or drink for 24 hours before the appointment. Unfortunately, fasting for 24 hours was an easy task as her body was rejecting any food and water that she attempted to ingest; this was causing fatigue, exhaustion, and vertigo that was becoming unbearable. When she arrived at her appointment, the hospital refused to complete the procedure due to undigested food that was seen in her stomach even after she had followed their 24-hour protocol. The next earliest available endoscopy appointment they would give her was for January 20th…
Mom refused to wait, knowing that something was wrong, and pursued a new doctor at the Cleveland Clinic, who scheduled an endoscopy for the next day.
She has endured seven treatments of chemotherapy that have shrunk the tumors in the stomach, but did not work for the spots of cancer on the liver. They have grown.
She is now looking into Functional Medicine and a lot that is not covered by insurance—drugs, therapies, and food.
We appreciate anything you can give.
