Help Us Keep Mom’s Fight Going
Two years ago, we were told our mom might only have 18 months to live. But if you know anything about her, it’s that she doesn’t back down from a fight. She looked that diagnosis in the face and said, “No. I need at least 20 more years.”
And she’s been proving the doctors wrong ever since.
Against all odds, she’s come further than anyone ever expected. Her cancer had spread to places that sounded terrifying; lungs, spine, abdomen, ovaries. But one by one, she’s tackled every battle. Some spots disappeared. Others were removed. What was once out of control is now being held at bay. She’s defied the timeline. She’s still here. She’s still strong. And most importantly, she’s not done fighting.
But now, we’ve hit a wall.
The treatment that was helping has stopped working, and her doctor wants to switch her to a new medication that could make a real difference. The problem? Before insurance will cover it, there’s a $2,000 copay we have to come up with and for our family, that’s just not something we can afford.
Both our mom and her husband live on fixed incomes and barely make ends meet each month. Assistance programs have turned her away, and because her cancer is so rare, most organizations can’t offer support. We’re out of options.
And that’s why we’re asking for help.
We know times are tough for everyone, but anything you can give will go directly toward helping my mom get the medication she needs to keep fighting. She’s not ready to stop. She still has so much life left to live, and so much fight left in her heart.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for supporting her in this journey. It means more than you’ll ever know.
