Help for Mom & Baby: High Risk Pregnancy

Donation protected
Hello Everyone,

I am reaching out to you with a hopeful heart and a humble request for support for my sister, Ariel, and her family. After moving to Colorado Springs, CO, for her husband’s job, my sister, brother-in-law, and their two small boys find themselves facing a profound challenge. Today, we are asking for your assistance to help lighten their heavy load.
At just 20 weeks into her pregnancy with their third son, my sister and brother-in-law received news that turned their world upside down – she has been diagnosed with both placenta previa and placenta increta/precreta

(They are hyperlinked so that you can see more details of these conditions.) These are life threatening conditions to both my sister and her unborn baby that require expert surgical and medical care. Placenta previa can lead to dangerous bleeding, while placenta increta / precreta brings the risk of life-threatening hemorrhaging during childbirth due to the placenta's abnormal growth and attachment to her vital organs. The placenta has now grown completely though the uterus wall and is laying on the bladder. It’s only a matter of time before the placenta invades her bladder and other organs. (As a result, Ariel will have to endure a full hysterectomy immediately following the birth of her baby.)
The good news is that a team of highly regarded experts who specialize in these conditions work at the highly specialized medical facility at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, a two-hour journey from their home. The bad news is that for her, and the baby’s, safety she is an inpatient and must stay at the hospital so that the highly experienced surgeons and medical staff can observe, and care for her immediately in case of hemorrhaging prior to delivery, (a very real threat). The doctors want to get her to at least 34 weeks to give the baby the best chance of survival.
As you might imagine, being separated from her husband and two young sons is difficult, and the challenge of balancing his full-time position, managing the day-to-day of their children’s care, and traveling back-and-forth to be with her for appointments so their boys can “go see Mommy!” is exhausting. The financial strain they face is overwhelming. With only a single income, the medical bills that insurance won’t cover and the extra expenses associated with covering what my sister can no longer do for her family right now, including daycare so her husband can work, has exhausted their finances.
In this challenging time, we turn to you – our extended family, and friends. Your generosity and support can make a transformative impact on their family's journey. We, her immediate family, are doing what we can and are humbly requesting donations to help cover these expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, will have a meaningful and positive effect on their lives. Your kindness and empathy will provide them with the emotional relief necessary to focus the health and well-being of my sister and her unborn child and will remind them that they are not alone on this challenging path.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering supporting this young family during their difficult and dangerous time. Please join us in helping - your generosity and care mean the world to all of us.
With heartfelt gratitude,
(Auntie) Kayla Manson
