Help mom and son from Ukraine pay rent

Hi, my name is Ekaterina Zvantseva and I have created this fundraiser to help my new friend, Kateryna Solyanyk, pay rent in DC until she gets a TPS (Temporary Protection Status) that will allow her to work.

A modest studio apartment in NW DC where her son has started going to school would be more than enough for her to survive. The average rent for a studio apartment in this area is $1500.

 

Kateryna has submitted all the required documents and is waiting to get the TPS and gain employment in about 6 months from now. I am asking to help ensure she has enough to cover her rent for the next 6 months.

 

Any amount no matter how small is greatly appreciated. If you are able to, please consider monthly donations. I will be posting updates on her status and we will close the fundraiser as soon as she is employed.

 

I met Kateryna through the school that my kids go to in Dupont circle in Washington DC. Her son Misha started going to the same school in March and quickly became good friends with my children. He is adjusting well and is currently learning English.

This family had to leave everything behind: their husband and dad, who is currently fighting for Ukraine, their home, all their belongings and Kateryna's job as a school teacher. They just need to survive until they are able to live here on their own. Please help!
