We are asking for help with repairing the home that my mom and brother live in. Many have been affected by Hurricane Helene and the devastation that it left behind. The winds from the hurricane caused two large pecan trees to fall on their home. This caused a multitude of damage.

The home needs to be leveled, the roof needs repair, the ceiling needs repair, and the porches need repair. During the time of the hurricane, they did not have insurance on the home. Considering the hurricane happened just a few months after Daddy passed away, we were still figuring out his accounts and did not realize that he didn’t have home insurance.

We applied for help from FEMA. After 6 months of going back and forth with them, they have decided they will only give $2,000 towards home repairs. This will barely place a dent in the $26,800 repair quote they were given.

We are asking for any donations that you would be willing to offer to help in getting their home back to normal. If they aren’t able to get the home repaired quickly, the home will begin to dilapidate and become unlivable.

This was the home that I grew up in and it holds so many cherished childhood memories. This was the home that my dad took his last breath in. This home was going to be left to my brother for him to raise his family in.
