Hello everyone! Many of you may already know my mom was diagnosed almost 2 years ago with Stage 4 Colon Cancer that had metastasized. She has multiple nodules on her lungs and two liver lesions. She has chemotherapy every other week for the past 2 years come June. Most with nasty side effects, and some so horrible that they had to change her medicine multiple times. I am creating this GoFundMe to help cover the cost of alternative medicine which can be very costly because they are not covered by insurance. Here's a little insight and update. When she was first diagnosed with cancer I created a GoFundMe to help save her apartment as she was unable to work when she first started out on this journey. We are eternally grateful for all the help you provided for my mother. Going forward almost 2 years later she still cannot work and is on a fixed income. Cancer has uprooted her life and her family's lives like no other. It's a horrible disease that we watched take over someone that we love so dearly. My mom has been through many hardships since being diagnosed, along with courageously made the choice to shave her head after starting to loose so much from chemo (and if you know her, that was heartbreaking) She has completed 32 CYCLES of vigorous chemotherapy. She also takes an abundance of medications daily (9 total, some multiple times a day) Her chemo weeks look like this : Monday arrives at the cancer center at 8:00 a.m. hooked up to IVs and needles. She stays there until 3:00 - 4:00 in the afternoon. Then she takes home her pump that's connected to her chest port via subdermal until Wednesday afternoon when she gets a pump removed. Blood work every time she goes to the cancer center to make sure her levels are stable and a scan every 6 months to show any progression. And on her off weeks she goes Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for three bags of magnesium and potassium which are a half hour each ( her levels have been dangerously low) so needless to say she spends A LOT of time at the hospital trying to rid this horrible disease. We've seen slight progress but not what we've hoped for which is why we searched out alternative methods. I will list the medicine and vitamins that we will be purchasing for this trial. They can be quite expensive so I would like to just give her a good start to try to beat this and get her into remission once and for all. We are praying that this will be a miracle for our family.
