Molly is 12 years young with a heart of gold and the spirit of a puppy. Yesterday morning, I sensed something was off with her. Trusting my intuition, I insisted on getting her an ultrasound immediately, and it was discovered that she was bleeding internally from a ruptured tumor on her spleen.
The options we were given :
1. Euthanize ($500-$700)
2. Offer her end-of-life comfort care ($0-700)
3. Surgically remove the spleen and tumor ($7,100-$10,500)
Molly proved to be a fighter, with blood pressure strong enough to be a candidate for surgery. At that point, surgery was a no-brainer. She was rushed into emergency surgery to remove her spleen and the tumor. As of now, it is still unknown if the tumor is cancerous. We should know next week.
If the tumor turns out to be benign, Molly is otherwise cured and given the opportunity for several more years of life.
If the tumor was cancerous, we will have to consider chemo or other remedies to reduce any possible cancerous cells that may be present on a molecular level.
The funds raised will help cover the cost of her emergency surgery and any follow-up care or treatments she may need.
Molly has been a significant part of my life. She is the reason I became the mother and person I am today. Her presence guided me, molded me, and held me accountable. Just as I knew something was wrong, I know she's not ready to go. Any support, whether through donations or sharing this fundraiser, means the world to us. Thank you for helping give Molly a fighting chance.
