Help Support Molly Swan-Sheeran

Molly has been on Lopez Island for many years, but is now forced by medical issues to live in a care facility off-island. I have known Molly and husband John (deceased 2015) since we moved here in 2006. I know many Lopezians love her too. She and John produced silver fiber-working tools and jewelry, and Molly and I started poetry and fiction writing groups. She often read her poetry and writing at events on the island. She wrote a book on Celtic Knots that was well received.

Due to a recent stroke (she's doing reasonably well) she was taken to Anacortes. From the hospital, she was transferred to a full-care facility, and remained there for a number of weeks, and was sent home. She had a fall in her apartment, alone. Now she is back in the full-care facility, but has been billed several thousand dollars for the days it took to get her approved. She will be able to move to a much nicer assisted-living facility, run by the same company, but not until the bill is paid. Until then, she is in what is essentially a hospital room.

Her sister came out from the East Coast to help Molly. She has assisted with getting the apartment on Lopez cleared out (Molly cannot live there alone), and storing the items Molly cares about most, until the move to assisted living is accomplished. Her sister has spent several thousand dollars of her own money for the trip. There are other bills to be paid as well. I am setting the target amount here to $9,000 to cover the medical expenses, and the moving and other expenses.
