Hello my fellow dog lovers! My name is Lindsey and one week ago, my husband rescued this sweet American foxhound that we named Molly in the freezing cold on Camp Mackall, a military base in Moore County NC. She was emaciated, low energy but loving and affectionate. She was unchipped & unclaimed. I brought her to the vet the next day. We are currently treating her for many different parasites but we are heartbroken to say she is heartworm positive. The vet believes with after 3 different days of spinal injections and overnight monitoring, x-rays etc, Molly will be heartworm free and live a long healthy life. The shelters are full & there are not many options for this girl in our area, but this sweety deserves a good life. We were devastated to hear that their quote of this procedure ranges from $2200-$2500. I also priced out 2 other Vets and it was the same. This was all very unexpected but hoping to raise money for this procedure scheduled for January 6th. Thank you so much.
