Help Molly and Phoebe with Medical Expenses!

Hi, my name is Kate and I am starting a fundraiser to help Molly and Phoebe Morton with unexpected medical expenses that they have been faced with in the last week.

Last week, Molly came home to her cat and best friend Phoebe lethargic and vomiting. She took her into the emergency vet where she was found to be in severe renal failure. They did not expect Phoebe to make it through the weekend and told Molly to start thinking about stopping interventions in the coming days.

However, they decided to perform an ultrasound which showed both of Phoebe's kidneys to be swollen. This suggested something more acute (and possibly reversible) had happened to block off and injure both kidneys, causing kidney failure. Ultimately, she was emergently transferred to Columbus for further evaluation which revealed massive bilateral kidney stones blocking both ureters. The only option to try and save Phoebe was for emergency surgery to place tubes, bypassing the blockages.

Phoebe underwent successful surgery on Friday. She continues to recover in the kitty ICU, but has been called a "superstar patient" and is slowly weaning off of her medications and fluids. Her sass has returned and she is now back to hissing at her nurses and docs. She is expected to make a full recovery and come home later this week.

In the meantime, Molly has been faced with veterinary bills in just a few short days that will likely amount to $15,000-20,000. Not one to ask for favors, she fully anticipated doing whatever it takes to pay for this herself. She is a selfless, loving, wonderful friend to all of us and I thought we could try and help her offset some of these costs. Anything helps!
