Help Molly & Family in Fight against MS.

Donation protected
Dear friends and family,

Many of you know that our dear Molly is in the Neurological ICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was unexpectedly hospitalized shortly before Christmas after she suddenly had difficulty walking and speaking clearly. An MRI showed lesions on her brain and she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Although difficult, it was comforting to know that modern medicine offers treatments to slow MS progression and maintain functionality. Unfortunately, doctors have learned that Molly has a rare and aggressive form of MS and her body has been unresponsive to the typical treatments. The steroids, plasmapheresis and other MS medications have not been able to stop her immune system from rapidly attacking her nervous system, specifically her brain. The longer her brain has been under attack, the more function she has lost.

Molly has gradually lost nearly all of her abilities, first through paralysis of the left side of her body, partial vision loss, and now paralysis of the right side of her body. She is unable to speak or follow commands. She has been on and off sedation and a ventilator, and she is being fed through a feeding tube. In a matter of weeks, her life and her families’ lives have been turned upside down. Doctors have started chemotherapy treatment, which is meant to disable her immune system from continuing the attack of her nervous system. We pray for miraculous results to stagnate the progress of brain damage and allow for healing to begin.

Molly is a loving, caring, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and nurse. She has devoted much of her life to giving to others. She has an inner light that cannot be quenched, and she has always found joy in sharing it with others. The round-the-clock support from family and friends, love, thoughts, prayers and fasting on Molly’s behalf have been incredible. At this time, any type of financial support you can give would be greatly appreciated as well. Molly’s husband, Eric has been on leave from work for 3 weeks now, as he tirelessly cares for Molly and their precious boys. Additionally, hospital bills continue to mount and costly long-term care is expected. Any amount you are able to donate to alleviate the financial burden will go toward hospital bills, long- term care and lost income. May we follow in Molly’s footsteps and provide some much needed light for Molly and her family.

We do not know what the outcome will be, but regardless, it will be arduous for all involved. Please help Molly, Eric and their sweet, young boys. Thank you, humbly, for your ongoing love and support.
