As many of you know, the last two years have been a rocky road for Moosecasa. This, however, is not that story. You’ve heard it, or some of it, and it’s old news. THIS is the story of how you should come sit in our hot tub next winter.
I’ve spent the entire pandemic making the home I want out of the house we’ve lived in for almost 20 years. It has taught me a lot, both in new skills and in learning to think about what I DO want in a home. I’m so, so happy to be making a place where we can not only relax and parent and garden and work, but also throw parties and sit with friends around a fire and picnic and, yes, hot tub in the snow. And I’ve done so much of the work already!
However, there are two things I can’t do by myself: one, it had always been my goal to ask for HELP in doing and building these things, to have a community around me helping to construct a gentle and awesome future in our home; and two, actually, after mulling this over for six months and watching endless youtube tutorials, I just don’t believe I’m up to the task of laying a patio correctly.
Also, it’s my birthday.
So: many people have asked how they can help, in the last year. And here is a wonderful thing I would like help constructing: in place of the broken concrete rubble currently edging my yard, I would like to instead ask for help hiring professionals to grade the area and put in a real patio, suitable for backyard games and drinks and dinner and, hopefully this fall, a hot tub.
So that’s the pitch! We're going to do this thing, and if you feel moved to help, or even just offer words of encouragement, it would be DEEPLY appreciated. And afterwards, come sit on our patio- and when it gets cold, the hot tub.
