Hi, I am Mollie. My husband and I recently suffered a lot of damage to our home in the Tampa area during Hurricane Milton. Water was coming in fast once the storm hit and we couldn't move things fast enough. I kept praying for God to please stop the rain. It was very traumatic at the time. More than 80% of our home was damaged by the water. We were fortunate to have family and friends who came the next day to quickly pack and move our household belongings and furniture to one dry room in the house and to the garage. Many priceless pieces of furniture had to be thrown away. My once beautiful Victorian/Country home full of antiques now looks like a war zone. We were able to get the carpet and baseboards ripped out 2 days after the storm and we have had fans, blowers, and a huge dehumidifier running for a couple of days. We are praying for no mold. I don't have the bill from the mold remediation company from the carpet removal yet, and I have no idea what it will cost to replace all the flooring in the house and one kitchen cabinet that has water damage. I cannot replace the items that had sentimental value. I am praying we don't have to replace dry wall in addition as a result. We are safe and that is what counts. I am doing my best to stay positive and I have a temporary office set up in our dining room on our new exquisite concrete floors. If you can help us even a little bit we would be so grateful. All monies will be spent to pay the mold remediation company, for repairs to cabinets and walls, and for flooring.
We have lived in this house for 36 years and have seen many hurricanes come and go and we have never had any damage. This Milton was a monster. We don't live in a flood zone and we don't have flood insurance.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
