Donald Lawrence, affectionately known as Donnie or DL, was funny, charming, and down to earth. He had an infectious personality, and to know him was to love him. Donnie was a Navy veteran, though his service was cut short by an injury. Donnie suffered from COPD for quite some time, and as his condition worsened, he needed to carry oxygen everywhere he went. His shortness of breath made it difficult for Donnie to stand and/or walk unless it was very short of a distance, so he began using a scooter to get around.

In September of this year, Donnie's health took a turn for the worse. He was hospitalized on multiple occasions, and each time he returned home, it became harder for him to care for himself. Donnie told his children that he wanted to spend his final days at home, but within a few days, he would need to return to the hospital. On November 12, 2025, Donnie passed away at Cincinnati Veterans Hospital, leaving his children, Moladah and Don-Don, heartbroken.

This loss comes after a series of tragedies for the family. Moladah and Don-Don have already endured the devastating loss of their mother to cancer and the untimely passing of Moladah's son, Rashad. Their hearts are shattered, and the burden of funeral expenses is overwhelming.
