Dear friends, my name is Mike Watson, and I am the Treasurer for the Southeastern US Kendo Federation. Our Federation President, Moises Becerra sensei, is experiencing a very serious health problem, progressive interstitial lung disease. His medical team has approved a life-saving bi-lateral lung transplant, which is ongoing at the time of this post.

Becerra sensei has been hospitalized since late May while he was in Atlanta as part of the SEUSKF team practice. He has since been transported via ambulance to a hospital in his home state of Florida.

While a bi-lateral lung transplant offers a powerful path forward, it is a complex medical procedure that entails a high degree of medical intervention and, of course, costs that go along with not only the operation but the extensive follow up care needed. To proactively prepare for this we want to provide some financial help to him and his family, so we are setting up this GoFundMe campaign to assist them. The funds will go directly to them.
