Help Mohanad-Gazan Survivor-pursue higher education!

Hi, I’m Jessica Muiseke, Mohanad’s friend.

I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Mohanad Kamal, who is a survivor of the ongoing crisis in Gaza. At 24 years old, he is faced with the daunting task of starting over, having lost everything, including his right to pursue his studies.

In 2019, Mohanad enrolled at a university in Turkey to study computer engineering. However, after two years, he faced health issues that forced him to return to his homeland, Gaza, to be close to his family and friends. He continued his education at a local university and even established a startup with his friends that provided technical solutions for businesses.

Unfortunately, a year later, war broke out, devastating his university and destroying their startup. For over six months, he was trapped in Gaza, unable to pursue his studies or work on his business. Mohanad hoped that once he found a way out of Gaza, he could resume his education and rebuild his life. Recently, he was evacuated to Egypt, but despite applying for numerous scholarships, he has yet to secure any funding to continue his education.

The only viable option left for him is to enroll in 6th of October University in Giza, Egypt, to study computer engineering. The program lasts five years, and the cost is $4,200 per year. Given that he lost almost everything, Mohanad is unable to cover these expenses on his own.

Considering the 2.9% GoFundMe platform fee and additional 5-7% transfer fees, we are seeking to raise $25,000 to cover his university fees and other expenses for the next five years.

Here is a breakdown of how the funds will be used:

- University tuition: $21,000 (for 5 years)

- Books and study materials: $2,000

- Platform and transfer fees: approximately $2,000
