My beloved brother, Mohan Sai Pothugunta has been severely injured in a shooting incident in Memphis, Tennessee at his appartment parking lot and he drove for help. This unexpected and tragic event has left our family devastated and in urgent need of assistance.
In a moment of unimaginable tragedy, Mohan Sai survived a horrific shooting incident where he was shot by four bullets. While he has shown incredible strength and resilience, one bullet remains lodged near his vertebral column. The doctors have advised against removing it due to the high-risk. This injury, along with the trauma he has endured, has left him in a critical condition, physically and mentally.
Despite these overwhelming challenges, Mohan graduated in December 2024, and was full of hope for his future as he began to look for job opportunities under OPT (Optional Practical Training) as part of his career journey. However, his world was turned upside down, and his dreams have been put on hold as he focuses on his recovery.
This devastating incident has shocked not only Mohan but also our entire family. We now find ourselves in a position where we need help from generous individuals like you to cover the medical expenses and day-to-day survival needs that have arisen due to this catastrophic event.

- Emergency Surgeries and Ongoing Hospital Bills he undergone multiple surgeries and will need further medical interventions. The medical bills are mounting, and any support will go directly towards paying for these crucial treatments.
- Ongoing Care requires as one bullet remains near Mohan’s vertebral column, and the risks of attempting to remove it are deemed too high risk continuous monitoring, and specialised medical care to manage this dangerous condition.
- Mohan is facing a long road to recovery, which will include both physical and mental rehabilitation. He will need extensive therapy to regain his mobility and psychological support to heal from the trauma. These therapies are essential to his recovery but come with significant costs.
- With Mohan unable to work or focus on his career, his day-to-day living expenses have become an added burden. These funds will help cover his basic needs such as food, medicine, and personal care while he focuses on healing.
