Help Mohammed’s Family Survive and Rebuild in Gaza

When everything you’ve built turns to ash, what do you do? You keep going - because survival becomes your only act of resistance.
My name is Mohammed Said, and I’m a mobile app developer from Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, I’ve been living through a relentless war that has displaced my family multiple times, destroyed everything I worked for, and pushed me to the very edge of survival.
During the first month of the war, the bombing didn’t stop for a second. Explosions lit the sky all night long. I made the terrifying decision to flee my home in northern Gaza, hoping to keep my family alive. We moved first to central Gaza, then to Khan Younis, and eventually to Rafah in the far south - chasing safety that never truly existed.
But no matter where we went, the bombs followed.
Every house we stayed in was destroyed. Even the homes I rented to keep my family safe were bombed to the ground. My car was burned, and later, the entire building I lived in was reduced to rubble.

After months of running, and once the passage reopened, I returned to what was left of northern Gaza. Now, I live in a tent, surrounded by destruction, grief, and the constant threat of starvation.
Life Today: Beyond Hardship
Life here is unspeakably difficult. Food is nearly gone, and when it's available, it's sold at outrageous prices. Clean water is rare. Electricity and internet are luxuries we can't afford. Every day is a fight for survival. I watch children cry from hunger, and people suffer in silence, too numb to speak.

We are not living - we are only surviving.
Why I Didn't Ask for Help Until Now
For over a year, I held on. I didn’t want to ask for help.
I’ve always worked for myself, developing and publishing Android applications on the Google Play Store, earning an honest living through my own efforts. Even after the war started, I kept trying to work through the chaos.

But now, I simply can’t.
I’ve lost all the tools I need to do my job - my equipment, stable internet, and a safe place to focus. My mental and emotional state is crumbling under the pressure. I can no longer code when I haven’t eaten, when the tent I sleep in leaks in the rain, when my family is hungry, and the world feels like it’s falling apart.

It hurts me deeply to ask for help. But I have no choice anymore. This campaign is not about comfort - it’s about survival.
What I’m Asking For
I’ve set a goal of £14,000 to help me and my family survive the coming months and begin rebuilding what we’ve lost. Here's how the funds will help:
Shelter – Find a more stable place to live than a tent, even if temporary.
Food & Water – Afford basic daily meals and clean drinking water for me and my family.
Electricity & Internet – Secure solar power and stable connectivity to return to work.
Restore My Tools – Replace the tech and equipment I lost so I can start building apps again.
Looking Toward the Future
If I survive this war, I want to do more than just survive. I dream of launching an online store, a project that could give me long-term stability and allow me to support others around me. If any part of the funds remains after covering essential needs, I will invest it into this vision - turning survival into growth, and tragedy into a new beginning.
How You Can Help
Donate – Every euro helps me breathe a little easier, eat a little better, and move a little closer to safety.
Share – Even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign can make all the difference. The more people who hear this story, the more likely it is that I can survive this war and rebuild.
️ I may share photos of the area where I live, and some of the children in my family, to show you the faces behind this plea - the real human cost of what we’re going through.
A Final Word from My Heart
"In Gaza today, hunger is louder than bombs. We don’t just need to rebuild homes - we need to rebuild lives."
This campaign is my last resort. I want to live. I want my family to live. And I want the chance to rebuild, even if it takes years. With your support, I can hold on.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with me.
