Hi, my name is Corey and I am Mohammed's friend living in the UK, and I am here trying to raise money desperately to save him and his family's lives.

We have been friends for a long time, and he is always someone who is there when needed, and we have gone through many happy and sad times together - he has a bright future and the ambition to make the world a far better and peaceful place. Unfortunately, the current situation in Gaza is stopping him from being able to pursue that.

Many of you would have seen the constant news flashes and tragedies taking place in Gaza over the past 4 months on TV and social media, and for some people it is easy to switch off the news and pretend it isn't happening. But for the people who remain In Gaza, there is no switching off, it has been their reality for 125 days as I write this. Every single day is a struggle, in some cases its weeks, if not months on end, without basic human needs which we can easily access from our own homes. The constant terror and dread of wondering if you will still have all of your friends and loved ones when the sun rises, or if you will even wake up at all.

This is the uncomfortable reality that they have suffered for all this time, constantly being displaced and not knowing where your next meal will come from, or even a simple drink of water. Despite all this, him and his family have spent their time volunteering to help those who are equally disadvantaged. Now with the impending attack on Rafah (which could happen at any moment), the one place that was claimed to be safe, there is no choice but to act now to try to save them as there is nowhere else left for them to go.

I am committed to finding any way possible to get this family, the one of my best friend and a family I would consider myself part of, to safety, and I can't do this without your help. 100% of the funds collected will go to Mohammed and his family for the purposes of getting them to safety via contacts in Egypt.

To be stuck in an open-air prison for 22 years is not something that most can imagine. Losing your home, constantly fearing the next news of a friend or family member lost to bombings are also things that someone leading a normal life can not imagine. To be deprived of your dreams, your freedom of movement, safety, and shelter. To endure five wars throughout your childhood and still say you are okay and that you’ve still got it. These are the horrors that I have endured during my life here in Gaza. This is not just my story, this is the story of hundreds of thousands of people who were subject to the same destiny in this harsh region.

I have graduated with a bachelor’s in English Translation, and I had a shiny future to look up to before this devastating war shattered it and took away everything that I love.

In this war alone, my family and I have been compelled to relocate seven times before finally settling in Rafah, where we currently reside. Each time we find refuge and shelter, we are abruptly displaced due to the looming threat of airstrikes and artillery fire. The news consistently broadcasts that Rafah is the next target, leaving us trapped here with no alternative choice, as this was our final hope amidst adversity.

Unfortunately, we are unable to afford the extravagant expenses of leaving Gaza. This is why I am pleading for your help to get us out of here before the impending military operations in Rafah which might very well take our lives too.
