My name is Deborah Fink and I'm a Jewish campaigner for Palestinian rights living in London. I've been in regular contact with Mohammed for the last year and done video calls with him. I now have the opportunity to help him to get out of Gaza and gain residency in Canada, for which he needs to get his visa in Egypt. Crossing the border at Rafah will cost him $8,000. Here is his story:-

'My name is Mohammed, I am 28 years old and live in Gaza with my father, mother, sisters and brothers. There are eight of us. We have been living in tents for a year and every two weeks we have had to flee and move to another place. My family has lost their home and we cannot get anything from inside because it is in ruins. In January 2024, I applied for immigration and asylum to Canada and got approval. Myself and two of my brothers can get a visa from the Canadian embassy inside Egypt. I cannot get this visa from inside Gaza, but the Canadian embassy is not responsible for my exit from Gaza to Egypt. When the Rafah crossing and the borders are opened, each refugee has to pay $8,000 for coordination and exit to Egypt. At the present time, I need your help to get out of Gaza to Egypt so that I can achieve my goal to help my family who remain and live in Gaza.
