MOHAMMED'S STORY IN HIS OWN WORDS:

Hey Friends,

I'm Mohammed Abu Mansour, from Gaza. I have seen things I would never wish anyone to ever witness.

My house is fully destroyed and I don't have the money to rebuild it. I witnessed a bomb explode between me and my friend, he is dead. I received a bad head injury for 2 months. I couldn't walk, see, or hear well. I have lost my job as a freelancer.

Starvation has been an everyday struggle with expensive food, leading me to even drinking salt water and carrying wood for cooking from a long distance. Even I can't find work to have a normal life (marry my girl), pay the bank, and can't buy food. Everything is really expensive, 50$ for 1 kilo of sugar!

Also, I want to continue my studies at University as (English Translator), but i don't have stable internet. I have always dreamed to become a professional video gamer and to work as a freelancer (SEO Content Writer), but my computer is destroyed under my house and I can't buy new one.

Before the war, my life was really bad. I had to work 10 hours daily to get 5$! and continue my University - even my degree wasn't useful because there were no jobs. When I joined the freelancing world on 5/10/2023 I got my first job. Two days later the war started.

We have taken 20,000$ (loan) from the bank to build our house, all of us had to work for paying to the bank. Now my house is destroyed.

I feel really bad when I see that I don't have a future or think that I might have to live in a tent the rest of my life.

I appreciate any help.

Thank you.

TRANSPARENCY NOTE FROM ORGANISER

My name is Isabella Kershaw and I am a 22 year old settler living on unceded Wallumettegal country in so-called Australia.

I am raising funds to help my friend Mohammed Abu Mansour to evacuate Gaza, and importantly to meet his basic needs until such time as he is able to. Mohammed and have maintained a very true long-distance friendship since 2024, and are in daily contact using videocalls, Whatsapp, Instagram and LinkedIn.

In Mohammed's critically insecure situation, your donation is a lifeline. Whatever you can afford, even if it is only a small amount, will be deeply appreciated and valued.

Funds raised will go towards
  • Rental costs for Mohammed and his loved ones while in Gaza
  • Food & basic necessities for Mohammed and his family while in Gaza
  • Costs of attaining civil documents required for the evacuation of him and his loved ones
  • Evacuation costs including visas, border fees, airfares, accommodation, civil documents etc., once an Australian or international visa is granted

I am the authorised beneficiary of this fundraiser and will be personally responsible for ensuring the funds are received by Mohammed. Funds will be transferred from my bank account to Mohammed's using IBAN international money transfer. Funds will be transferred in amounts as required by Mohammed.

This fundraiser complements a campaign aimed at granting Mohammed safety and stability in Australia under the Temporary Humanitarian Concern (subclass 786) or similar visa program.
