I pray this finds you well. We are Mohammed and Yara, a couple from Gaza who've welcomed their first baby girl, Masa, last August before the beginning of a devastating war which set us in a state of crisis leaving us with nothing but despair. We've lost our home and all our belongings in the bombing of our house in Tal Al-hawa, Gaza.

Before the start of this war, I, Mohammed, used to work as a software engineer and a mentor, teaching coding enthusiasts and fresh students how to write code. At GazaSkyGeeks, I used to help hundreds of people, through coding sessions and workshops, achieve their dreams of becoming developers. However, my dreams to build my career as a senior engineer were shattered when we received the news from relatives in November that our home has been targeted as part of the tremendous Israeli aggression on our neighborhood, costing us our life savings and leaving us homeless.

Yara, a talented artist, had big dreams of advancing her skills and sharing her artwork with the world. Whether it's digital drawing or traditional painting, Yara has mastered it all. Before the war, Yara used her art skills to financially support herself and her family by serving clients from all over the world while constantly being challenged by the harsh life conditions in Gaza. Unfortunately, however, everything came to an end on October 7th.

On October 11th, we've made the decision to evacuate to the south, taking nothing but the necessities in small bags. Holding tight to our baby, and with just important documents and a few outfits, we were on the move to Nuseirat, central Gaza Strip, believing that as civilians, we would be safe. Only a few days later, we realized we were wrong. To make matters worse, Nuseirat came under threat as the ground invasion advanced further to the south, forcing us once again to pack what little we had and evacuate.

Because of the insane fees to cross through Rafah's crossing to Egypt and for the sake of supporting and providing for our families, Yara and I have made the decision to hold on to our life in Gaza as much as we can. However, to do so, we are in desperate need to rebuild our career and home, and that's why we need you!

As I'm writing this, we are homeless in Rafah, southern Gaza, in harsh conditions lacking the basic necessities of life with almost no access to food, drinkable water, or medicine. Dreaming of a better future for our daughter, I'm here today reaching out to you and the international community to support us with anything you can.
