My name is Carly from Wollongong and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for my dear friend Mohammed and his beautiful niece, Misk, who are living through unimaginable hardship in Nuseirat, Gaza.
I am trying to raise funds to help Mohammed with food and medical assistance as he has a family member that has type 1 diabetes and has to ration their insulin. I am a type 1 diabetic so this hits hard.
Mohammed is a kind, selfless, and resilient soul who always carries hope, even when everything around him has fallen apart. He was working as a nurse—a role he cherished—but the hospital where he worked was bombed, and he is no longer employed. Now, he struggles to find even the most basic necessities for his family.
Food is scarce. Clean water is hard to come by. Misk, just a young child, has no toys, no safe place to play, and no sense of normal childhood. Their home was bombed, and every day is a battle to survive. Despite it all, she still sends me voice messages, full of love and innocence, telling me she prays for me.
Mid-July, one of Mohammed’s close friends was killed while trying to collect food. The trauma and grief are overwhelming, yet Mohammed carries the burden of caring for many of his family members. His strength is stretched thin. Even the smallest task leaves him exhausted from hunger.
I have never created a fundraiser before. But I cannot stay silent while Misk is denied her basic rights as a child—or worse, comes to harm.
Any amount would help so much
